Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provides governance, fiduciary oversight, and strategic leadership to ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of Generation Fearless.

 

We are seeking board members who:

  • Bring expertise, networks, or lived experience aligned with our mission

  • Are willing to actively engage in governance, fundraising, and organizational strategy

  • Can serve as ambassadors for Generation Fearless within their communities and professional spaces

 

Geographic Requirement:
Board members must be located in the tri-state area to support in-person attendance at signature events and key gatherings held in our home state.

 

Meeting Commitment:
The Board of Directors meets at least four (4) times per year, both in person and via Zoom.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board Committee is a standing committee formed to advise the Board of Directors and leadership team on programs, partnerships, fundraising, and community impact.

 

We are especially seeking Advisory Board members from across the country who can:

  • Provide insight into regional needs, trends, and lived realities

  • Offer subject-matter expertise that informs program design and national strategy

  • Serve as thought partners and ambassadors for the mission

 

The Advisory Board does not carry legal or fiduciary responsibilities. Its purpose is advisory, offering recommendations and strategic insight to strengthen our work nationally.

 

Meeting Commitment:
The Advisory Board Committee meets at least four (4) times per year via Zoom.

Current Volunteer Leadership Opportunities

  • Coordinator of Financial Wellness & Economic Empowerment

  • Coordinator of Immigration & Advocacy

  • Coordinator of Health & Wellness

  • Coordinator of Entrepreneurship & Innovation

 

Each role works collaboratively with our Leadership Team to design, support, and implement programming rooted in equity, cultural awareness, and holistic empowerment for first-generation women.

Internship Opportunities 

Marketing & Communications Intern

This internship offers hands-on experience working with a growing nonprofit and provides opportunities to take ownership of creative projects that elevate the lived experiences and voices of first-generation women.

Responsibilities, Duties & Projects

  • Create written and visual content for the website, social media, email campaigns, and organizational newsletter

  • Manage social media accounts, including scheduling posts, monitoring inboxes, and responding to comments and messages for assigned campaigns

  • Write and edit compelling stories highlighting the lived experiences of first-generation women

  • Draft press releases for events and organizational announcements

  • Create promotional materials for events and community outreach initiatives

 

Desired Major(s)

Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, English, Public Relations, or related fields

Program Development & Community Engagement Intern

This internship supports the design, coordination, and evaluation of holistic programs serving first-generation women. The intern will assist with community partnerships, event execution, and program logistics while gaining practical experience in nonprofit program development and community engagement.

Responsibilities, Duties & Projects

  • Assist with planning and coordinating programs, retreats, and community-based events

  • Support outreach and communication with community partners and collaborators

  • Help track program participation, engagement, and outcomes

  • Assist with preparation of program materials, agendas, and post-event evaluations

  • Provide general programmatic and administrative support as needed

 

Desired Major(s)

Social Work, Sociology, Education, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Services, or related fields

 

Research, Data & Impact Intern

This internship supports Generation Fearless’ research, evaluation, and impact reporting efforts. The intern will assist with data collection, surveys, analysis, and reporting to strengthen organizational accountability, program improvement, and funding readiness.

 

Responsibilities, Duties & Projects

  • Support data collection efforts, including surveys and feedback tools

  • Assist with qualitative and quantitative data analysis

  • Help prepare internal dashboards and external impact reports

  • Support grant reporting and evaluation requirements

  • Conduct background research to support programs, initiatives, and advocacy efforts
